Do you have a scar resulting from surgery, accident, burn or trauma?

Are you concerned about restrictions, pain, appearance, and sensitivity resulting from your scar?

I work with you to devise a personalised recovery plan to address the discomfort you are experiencing due to your scar.  At your initial consultation I will actively listen to you, observe movement and palpate (assessing by touch) your scar and surrounding tissue. This enables me to select a combination of specialist scar massage techniques to address the wide range of symptoms that you may be experiencing.

These may include; pain and discomfort, restricted mobility, tightness, numbness, hypersensitivity, itching and swelling.

Scar therapy is a non-invasive gentle treatment.  The techniques I use focus on mobilising, lifting the tissue and gentle stretching.  Throughout the treatment I will check in with you regarding how you are feeling to ensure you are comfortable and having a positive response.  We will also discuss self-care strategies for you to use at home to further support your ongoing recovery and healing.

Are you concerned about your scar? Are you keen to ensure your recovery is optimal?  Are you worried about tightness, redness, pain or itching?

Scar therapy stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, to create changes in scar tissue.  This is a gentle non-invasive therapy using specialist massage and fascial release techniques to reduce pain, improve the mobility, and appearance of scars.

Remedial massage is used to target and address specific needs.  Remedial massage typically includes assessment to determine causes of pain and discomfort within the soft tissue; leading to a personalised treatment to achieve your goals.  A wide variety of techniques are used some of which may be uncomfortable at the time.

Sports massage is used to treat injures or pain that has arisen from engaging in sport and exercise activities.  Sport massage can be incorporated into plans to support preparing and recovering from sporting events thus supporting achieving peak performance.

Relaxation massage is used to de-stress and soothe the nervous system. This is a passive treatment, lie back and relax whilst massage techniques focused upon calming and relaxing the soft tissue are applied. This is typically a full body massage or back treatment when time is limited.

I first met Alison having put my lower back ‘out’, I was in excruciating pain, I could barely walk. Her therapy was excellent my lower back had vastly improved after some days of intense treatment. Since then I keep regular monthly appointments and I haven’t had any more problems. Highly recommended.
